We begin today to share what we believe is a "new normal" in helping caregivers to be better prepared and equipped to do an often thankless, lonely job of caring for a loved one. Don't get me wrong. I and my wife have experienced caregiving for each other through many health crises and we know there is a level of joy and fulfillment in the role. There is a sense of helping a loved one beyond anything you may have ever done in life. There can be a lasting reward/a legacy as others were inspired, supported and strengthened by your walk each day.
But we also know life brings many ups and downs, most of which we are surprised and not ready to handle. When an unexpected season of adversity strikes, often we are caught flat-footed and don't know what to do, where to get help and who do we trust to help find the best solutions.
CaregiverStrong is our website and How Much Do You Care? is our blogpage that has been created for you, the caregiver to share your ups and downs and help us create and join our global community who strengthens each other. Take a look at the webpages and let us know what we can add. Add your comments and let's build a new normal in communications for caregivers.
We are starting fresh with our blog so you help us decide on the categories and what would be valuable to you.
